June 16-22: St-Pierre, Hiking in Volcano and Piton des Neiges & Cilaos

I like France and find its overseas islands scattered in South Pacific and Indian Ocean intriguing and special. La Réunion is a walker’s paradise with more than 1,000km of well-marked trails and a well-kept secret. In many ways, it is the most fascinating of the Mascarene trio (i.e. Mauritius, Rodrigues and La Réunion).

Mauritius, an island nation in the Indian Ocean with an area of about 2,000km²and a population of 1.3 million is home to some of the world’s rarest plants and animals and one of the world’s top luxurious tourism destinations.

Botswana with its world famous Okavango Delta and wildlife, has become a popular destination in Africa. I join a 7-day organised tour from Victoria Falls to Johannesburg spending six full days in Botswana visiting the Chobe National Park, Okavango Delta and Khama Rhino Sanctuary.
